Privacy Policy

Introduction

Thank you for using Groovement (hereinafter referred to as "this App" or "we"). We take your personal information and privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy is intended to help you understand how we handle relevant information while you use this App, and how you can manage this information.

This Policy applies to all versions of this App released on the Apple App Store and major Android app stores in China (including but not limited to Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi App Store, OPPO Software Store, vivo App Store, Tencent MyApp, etc.).

This App adopts a "local-first" design: core features (BPM beat analysis, tempo adjustment, metronome, mixing, and playback) are all completed locally on your device, and by default your music files or analysis results are not uploaded to our servers. Please read this Policy carefully before using this App. By starting to use this App, you understand and agree that we will process relevant information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Information We Collect and Process

Music Files and Music Metadata

• When you add songs through local music library scanning, the system file picker, or WiFi import, we read the audio files you actively select and process their audio content locally on your device for BPM detection, energy trimming, tempo-shift alignment, metronome overlay, and mixed playback.
• To display and search within your library, we may also read and store basic metadata such as song title, artist, album, cover art, and duration.
• All of the above processing is completed locally on your device. Without your explicit consent, we will not upload your music files or analysis results to our servers.

WiFi Import Information

• The WiFi import feature temporarily starts an HTTP service on your device that is only accessible within the same local network, used to transfer music files from a computer on the same WiFi network.
• The transfer only happens within your local network; we will not send your files to the internet through this feature.
• To detect network availability and provide this feature, we may read the device's network status and WiFi connection status.

Locally Stored Data

• Library indexes, BPM analysis results, BPM panels, sound presets, and playback settings are stored in a local database on your device.
• Analysis caches and cover image caches are stored in the app's private directory and are only used to improve loading speed.
• You can clear the library or clear caches at any time under Settings - Data Management.

Account and Membership Information (If You Use These Features)

• If login, membership, or cloud sync features become available in this App and you register or log in, we may obtain basic information such as account identifiers, nickname, and avatar through your chosen login method (email, Sign in with Apple, Google, WeChat, etc.) for account identification, membership benefit sync, and customer support.
• Membership purchases are completed through the payment systems of the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the corresponding Android app store. We do not collect payment-sensitive information such as bank card numbers or payment passwords, and may only receive transaction status and order identifiers returned by the platform to confirm membership benefits.

Device and Runtime Information

• To troubleshoot crashes, improve compatibility, and evaluate basic usage, if analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are integrated in the future, we may collect basic runtime information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash logs.
• The current version does not integrate any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDK. If any are integrated in the future, we will update this Policy and the third-party services list, and truthfully declare them in each app store's listing materials.
• This promotional website uses Baidu Analytics (Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.) to measure page visits. It records anonymous page visits, referrers, and device categories for site operation analysis only, and does not involve your music or account data in the App. The App itself does not integrate any analytics SDK.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect information unrelated to this App's functions, such as your contacts, SMS, call logs, precise location, or album contents.
• We do not serve personalized ads in the app and do not use your music data for ad targeting.
• Saving playlist posters to your album requires your active action and authorization through the system dialog.

2. How We Use Information

We only use relevant information within the following purposes:

1. Providing, maintaining, and improving the core features of this App, including song import, library management, BPM analysis, playback, and mixing;
2. Providing extended services such as account login, membership benefits, and cloud sync (if launched);
3. Handling your inquiries, complaints, and after-sales requests;
4. Protecting account and app security, and preventing fraud, abuse, and malicious behavior;
5. Fulfilling legal and regulatory requirements and app store compliance requirements;
6. Other purposes with your separate consent.

3. Permissions We Use

You can deny or revoke the above permissions at any time. Except for scanning local music, most features of this App still work if the corresponding permission is denied; only the affected feature is limited.

4. Sharing, Transfer, and Public Disclosure of Information

Sharing

In principle, we do not share your personal information with third parties, except in the following circumstances:

1. App distribution and payment platforms: the Apple App Store, Google Play, domestic Android app stores, and their payment service providers, for app distribution, purchases, and subscription management;
2. Third-party SDKs or service providers integrated in the future, with the purpose and types of information as specified in the list in Section 5 of this Policy;
3. After obtaining your explicit consent;
4. When required by laws and regulations, regulatory authorities, or judicial proceedings;
5. When necessary to protect your or others' legitimate rights and interests.

Transfer

We do not sell your personal information. In the event of merger, acquisition, asset transfer, or similar circumstances, we will require the successor to continue complying with this Policy, or obtain your authorization and consent again.

Public Disclosure

Except as required by laws and regulations or with your explicit consent, we will not publicly disclose your personal information.

5. Third-Party Services (SDK) List

The current version does not integrate any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDK. If any third-party SDK is integrated in the future, we will add the SDK name, provider, purpose, types of information collected, and a link to its privacy policy to this list, and update it in the app as well.

6. Storage of Information

Local Storage

Your music files, library indexes, and analysis results are mainly stored locally on your device. After you delete the library, clear caches, or uninstall the app, the relevant local data will be deleted.

Cloud Storage (If Account and Membership Features Launch)

If you use account, membership, or cloud sync features, necessary account identifiers, membership status, and similar information may be stored on servers operated by us or our service providers. The storage region and processing methods will be subject to the Policy as updated by us at that time.

Retention Period

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, unless otherwise provided by laws and regulations or agreed separately by you. After you cancel your account or delete data, we will delete or anonymize the relevant personal information in accordance with the law.

7. Protection of Minors

This App mainly serves adult users and sports enthusiasts. It does not provide services to minors under 14 years of age and does not proactively collect their personal information. If you are under 14 years of age, please use this App under the guidance of a guardian after the guardian has read and agreed to this Policy and the Terms of Service.

If we discover that we have collected a minor's personal information without guardian consent, we will delete the relevant data as soon as possible.

8. Your Rights

Under laws and regulations such as the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, you have the following rights:

1. Access and correction: view and modify your account profile, settings, and other information within the app;
2. Deletion: clear the library or caches under Settings - Data Management, or delete individual songs; after deletion, the relevant local data cannot be recovered;
3. Withdraw consent: turn off the corresponding permissions or withdraw consent at any time in system settings;
4. Cancel account: if you registered an account, you can cancel it at any time under Settings - Account; after cancellation, we will delete or anonymize the relevant personal information;
5. Complaints and reports: raise complaints, reports, or objections through the contact information at the end of this Policy;
6. Stop using: you can uninstall this App and stop using the related services.

9. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy due to business changes, laws and regulations, or app store requirements. In the event of major changes, we will notify you through in-app prompts, announcements, or other appropriate means. The updated Policy takes effect on the date it is published.

11. Miscellaneous

• This Policy is an integral part of the Groovement Terms of Service and, together with those terms, constitutes the complete agreement between you and us.
• If this Policy conflicts with the rules of a specific app store, we will follow laws and regulations and the principles that better protect your personal information.
